Privacy
Policy.

We treat your information the way we treat your reputation — with care, with discretion, and only ever for the purpose you trusted us with.

§ 01

Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how Confidence Real Estate Marketing Inc. (a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada — referred to in this policy as "we," "us," or "Confidence") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your personal information when you visit confidencerealestate.ca (the "Site") or otherwise interact with us.

Confidence is a marketing house — not a brokerage. Our studio is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and we work with a sister company in Lebanon, Confidence Real Estate (Lebanon), a network of more than 300 advisors.

Our Privacy Officer is Ibrahim Bitar, Founder & Privacy Officer. You can reach him directly at [email protected].

§ 02

What we collect

We only collect information you knowingly give us through our contact form, by email, by phone, or in conversation. We do not buy data, scrape data, or build hidden profiles.

The personal information we may collect includes:

  • Identity & contact data — your name, email address, and phone (or WhatsApp) number.
  • Enquiry data — your real-estate intent (buying, selling, renting, or investing in Lebanon), preferred areas, property type and size, bedroom count, indicative budget or asking price in USD, timeline, occupancy status, and any free-text notes you choose to share.
  • Marketing-source data — how you heard about us, if you tell us.
  • Technical data — when you load the Site, our infrastructure provider (currently the Manus hosting platform fronted by Cloudflare) automatically receives standard server log data such as your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and timestamp. We do not currently combine this data with any identifying information.

We do not knowingly collect any "sensitive" personal information (such as health, financial-account, or government-ID data). Please do not send such information through the contact form.

§ 03

Why we collect it

We use your personal information for narrowly defined, legitimate purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiry and follow up by email, phone, or WhatsApp.
  • To route your enquiry to the right agent in our Lebanon sister-company network — for example, an Achrafieh listing goes to a Beirut specialist; a Faraya chalet goes to a Mount-Lebanon specialist.
  • To operate and improve the Site — diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and understand which pages are useful.
  • To comply with legal obligations — for example, responding to lawful requests from regulators such as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, advertising profiling, or sale to third parties. We do not currently send marketing emails. If we ever introduce a newsletter, it will be strictly opt-in.

§ 05

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the small set of service providers and partners required to do our job:

  • Web3Forms — a contact-form delivery service that receives your form submission and forwards it to [email protected]. Web3Forms is operated by Caffeinated Tools Inc. (USA). See its privacy policy at web3forms.com/privacy.
  • Google Workspace — our email and productivity provider. Inbound and outbound mail to and from [email protected] is processed by Google. See policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Confidence Real Estate (Lebanon) — our sister company. When your enquiry concerns a property in Lebanon, we will share with the appropriate agent only the details required to follow up with you (typically your name, contact information, area of interest, intent, and any preferences you have stated).
  • Hosting infrastructure — the Site is hosted on the Manus platform with Cloudflare in front for content delivery and security. Standard server logs may be processed by these providers.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We may disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Confidence, our clients, or the public.

§ 06

Cross-border transfers

Some of the providers above process personal information outside of Canada — including in the United States and in Lebanon (in the case of our sister company). When that happens, your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by foreign authorities.

By submitting our contact form, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer. Where required, we use contractual and technical safeguards to protect your information in transit and at rest. If you would prefer your enquiry not be shared with our Lebanese sister company, please tell us so in the form's free-text field or by emailing us first.

§ 07

How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, and as long as required by law:

  • Active enquiries are kept while we follow up with you and for a reasonable period thereafter, in case you return to us.
  • Closed or inactive enquiries are reviewed periodically and securely deleted when we no longer need them — typically within 24 months of last contact.
  • Email correspondence may be retained in our Google Workspace mailbox subject to standard Workspace retention.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner — see Section 10 — Your rights.

§ 08

How we protect it

We take reasonable technical, organisational, and physical measures to protect your information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, or modification. These include encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections to the Site, two-factor-authenticated access to our email, and limiting access to information on a need-to-know basis.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If we ever become aware of a privacy breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.

§ 09

Cookies & analytics

The Site currently uses only essential cookies — small bits of data your browser stores so the Site functions properly (for example, remembering whether you've dismissed a notice). It does not currently use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, and there are no Facebook Pixels, Google Ads tags, or LinkedIn Insight tags on the Site at the time of this policy's effective date.

If we add an analytics tool in the future (for example, Plausible or Google Analytics 4), we will update this section and, where required by law, ask for your consent via a clear notice on first visit.

§ 10

Your rights

Under PIPEDA — and under Quebec Law 25 if you are a Quebec resident — you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct any information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions;
  • Request deletion of your information where we no longer have a legitimate reason to keep it;
  • Receive your information in a portable, structured, machine-readable format (Quebec Law 25);
  • File a complaint with us, or, if you are not satisfied with our response, with the appropriate regulator (see Section 14 — Contact us).

To exercise any of these rights, please write to [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Request" and let us know what you are asking for. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or modifying any information, to make sure we are not handing your data to someone else.

§ 11

Children

The Site and our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through the Site, please contact us and we will delete it.

§ 12

Quebec residents

If you are a Quebec resident, the additional protections of Quebec's Law 25 apply to you. In particular:

  • You may exercise the right to data portability described in Section 10.
  • You may ask us to cease the dissemination of personal information that has been disclosed in contravention of law or that is causing you harm.
  • A French-language version of this policy is available upon request — please email us at [email protected].
§ 13

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services evolve or as the law changes. The Last updated date at the top will always show when the most recent revision was published. For material changes that affect how your information is used, we will take reasonable steps to notify you — for example, by posting a notice on the Site or by emailing past correspondents.
